PREDICTIONS & PRESCRIPTIONS

WHAT IS “FUNCTIONAL FUTURISM”?

As revolutionary technologies (AI, mRNA, CRISPR, nanotech, and drones) promise to deliver abundance, longevity, and cyborg lovers, populations in the developed world age and shrink. In a world built for growth, “shrinking pains” will complicate the road to abundance.

Functional Futurism is Steve Faktor’s forecasting formula for navigating this uncertain period and deciding what role we must play in it. Functional Futurism lives at the nexus of innovation, economics and culture. And Steve’s forecasting record is pretty damn good – and verifiable. It’s why senior executives at top tech, finance, healthcare, and consumer companies hire Steve and IdeaFaktory. They don’t want laundry lists of sanitized “trends” or Stepford Wife obedience. They want real divergent thinking, even when it’s unpopular. If you’re deciding where to invest millions, what company to acquire, what product to build, which market to chase, or on a vision to set, you’ll want to give us a call. How else will you justify any long-term investment over a sure-thing ad buy? Or, a tenth flavor of Frosted Flakes?
